C.A.P.A. Advisory Board
Advisory Board members provide advice and expertise on the administration of C.A.P.A.'s programs and wide-ranging services. The Board also suggests coordination between groups, individuals, and organizations within the schools and community at large.
Sam Alai, Mayor of the city of Broadview Heights
Mayor Alai is past president of the C.A.P.A. Coalition and has held many roles in the school district. His long history of community service earned him a Volunteer of the Year award in 2001. Mayor Alai served as a councilman in Broadview Heights from 2003 until his election as mayor in 2007.
Dr. Carla Calevich, Chairperson and
Director of Curriculum & Instruction, Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District
Dr. Calevich has chaired the coalition since 2003 and was previously affiliated with C.A.P.A. as a teacher and elementary school principal. She is a member of the Greater Cleveland Educational Development Center (GCEDC) and holds a doctoral degree from Kent State University.
Pam Coletta, Vice Chairperson and Parent Representative
Pam has been a member of C.A.P.A. since 2004. She was a teacher for 17 years and has worked in the prevention field since 1987. Pam has degrees in art and special education and has served in the BBH Parent School Organization.
Kelly McNeill, Vice Chairperson and Parent Representative
Kelly, a member of C.A.P.A. since 2006, is supervisor of Administrative Services with the Brecksville Recreation Department and Special Events Coordinator for the Community Center. She is a graduate of Ohio University with a Bachelor's degree in Interpersonal Communications.
Officer John Chrisopulos
Officer Jose Garcia, City of Broadview Heights Police Department
Officer Garcia has been a Student Resource Officer and D.A.R.E. Officer in the Brecksville-Broadview Heights School District since 2004. He has been employed by the Broadview Heights Police Department since 2002, and before that served on the Sandusky Police Department from 1996-2002.
John Demuth, Parent Representative and Youth Advocate
John is a certified Urban and Environmental Planner (retired) who is employed as a Park Ranger in the Cuyahoga Valley National Park. He is active in the community and district Boy Scouting. He and his wife, an educational aide, are longtime Brecksville residents with three children, one of whom graduated from the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools.
Pastor Robert Springer, Community Activist
Lou Carouse Jr., Brecksville City Councilman
member of the Business Advisory Council, Mr. Carouse, Jr. has been a Brecksville City Councilman since 1990. He is a lifelong resident of Brecksville, attending the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Schools, graduating in 1971 along with his wife, Pam. He has also had two daughters graduate from the district as well.
