Partnership for a Healthy Community

The Brecksville Broadview Heights City School District, the Cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights and the clergy of both communities initiated a partnership in order "to promote conversation about qualities essential to the lives of those living in a healthy community". The process leading up to the partnership was itself a conversation between members of these various groups regarding the good of the community, pressures upon suburban families, and nurturing the development of our children. Our culture places a huge emphasis upon success and achievements, but it takes more than that to be a healthy and productive member of society.

The Partnership for a Healthy Community encourages community members to engage in conversations about a specific quality each month. The hope is that families, classes, churches, schools and local government will discuss each quality and share stories, anecdotes and experiences with one another reaffirming the qualities. We suggest your conversations begin with three basic questions:

Posters, advertisements, bookmarks and other reminders appear around our communities listing these qualities and encouraging community members to participate in this partnership.

This initiative is a positive, proactive, community wide action plan, which invites all citizens young and old to consider characteristics or attributes of a healthy community. Please support and promote Partnership for a Healthy Community.

The partnership is funded by donations. If you or your organization would like to make a donation, checks should be made payable to Partnership for a Healthy Community and sent to Lou Carouse @ 10404 Highland Drive, Brecksville, OH 44141. For more information contact Lou Carouse at 216-906-3416.
