Senior Citizen Wellness Day
C.A.P.A. is invested in the health and wellness of senior citizens. Each year, in conjunction with the cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights' Human Services departments, it offers a Senior Citizen Wellness Day featuring free lectures, lunch and entertainment. All seniors, regardless of residency, are invited.

On October 14th, 2011 C.A.P.A. is once again collaborating with the Cities of Brecksville and Broadview Heights Human Services Department for the 14th Annual Senior Wellness Day. The event featuring Adrian Porter, RD, LD, Akron General Wellness Center, who will be presenting on "The Latest in Nutrition Science."
Attendees also will have an opportunity to participate in various breakout sessions including Joyce Lovelace, RN, BA form the Visiting Nurse Association, Dr. Balchunis of the Cleveland Sight Center, and volunteers from the Cleveland Zoo who will have an interactive presentation. Throughout the day, mini chair massages will be available as well as many giveaways.

The 2010 Senior Wellness Day Event featured featured Dr. Michael Schechter with Be Well Solutions, who spoke about healthy aging. Attendees also enjoyed participating in an interactive movement class facilitated by Hayley Weiss, Director of Dance by CMC. They also took part in on-going wellness activities including mini chair massages and fall craft.
The day was capped off by a performance by the Brecksville-Broadview Heights Men's Choir, who performed during lunch.

The 2009 Senior Wellness Day Event featured expert gardener/ entrepreneur Angelo Petitti, Owner of Petitti Garden Centers.
Senior citizens attending the event had an opportunity to participate in a number of breakout sessions and create a window garden to take brighten the winter months.
The 2008 event, held in fall 2008 at the Broadview Heights Community Center, featured keynote speaker Fred Griffith followed by breakout sessions and health and wellness activities. Lunch was provided free of charge, and entertainment was provided by the Brecksville Broadview Heights Men’s Choir.
