Insight Program
The Insight program is a psycho-educational program for students in grades 6-12 who may be experimenting with alcohol, marijuana, or other drugs.
Students learn about how mood altering substances affect their mental and physical health.
Topics Include:
-
Alcohol and Drug Education
-
Effects on the body and mind
-
Withdrawals
-
Classification of drugs
-
Family disease
-
Recover
-
Relapse Prevention
Through interactive meetings, teens look at their drug use, consider the consequences of their use and make a decision about continued use.
Insight uses the Substance Abuse Subtle Screening Inventory (SASSI) assessment, a brief and easily administered psychological screening measure that helps identify individuals who have a high probability of having a substance use disorder. SASSI aids in the referral process by helping determine whether individuals need more intensive services.
